The Democratic Deception

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff is making headlines for his deceptive depiction of the Ukraine transcript. Chairman Schiff is intentionally misleading the American public by purposefully misstating the facts.  Schiff already had prior knowledge about the complaint to which his staff helped coordinate with the whistleblower in filing a complaint. Schiff is making a mockery of Congress.

On September 17, Schiff stated "we have not spoken directly with the whistleblower,” proving he is fabricating his actions as he spearheads the baseless impeachment inquiry. Democrats have been playing this political game since the night President Trump was duly elected to serve as President of the United States.

It is clear that Chairman Schiff values personal political advancements over the facts and has no real desire to follow the truth. Because Schiff continues proving he is using his position recklessly, I have cosponsored the resolution to condemn and censure Chairman Schiff. As the top Democrat on such an important committee, Chairman Schiff is purposefully cherry picking information to further his partisan rhetoric.

This impeachment inquiry is nothing more than another political stunt by the Democrats to try to win in 2020. Even as the House Democrats continue down the divisive road of impeachment Republicans will remain focused on passing meaningful legislation that supports American families.

Internship Deadline Extension
The deadline to apply for a spring internship in my district and Washington offices has been extended through November 1, 2019. Students who are interested in gaining valuable work experience and professional development can begin the application process by downloading an internship application at this link.

Speaking of interns, meet our Hattiesburg intern, Allie Estorge. A native of Gulfport, Allie currently attends the University of Southern Mississippi and is the daughter of Jaime and Dave Estorge. She is majoring in political science and is interested in learning more about healthcare and foreign policy.

Since joining team Palazzo, Allie has learned the true meaning of servant leadership. Whether its answering phones or assisting constituents, Allie says it becomes increasingly apparent how important the work being done in the office is.

I would like to congratulate Rita McCarty, Cultural Resources Program Manager for the Mississippi National Guard. McCarty received the Secretary of Defense Environmental Award for Cultural Resources Management. She simultaneously helped rehabilitate two historic buildings at Camp Shelby to include a state-of-the-art curation facility, CRM offices, and cultural center for the Mississippi National Guard. She also initiated an internship program with USM to provide hands on experience for students.  I am grateful for her dedication to our National Guard as well as our state!
