Palazzo Condemns Arms Trade Treaty

Friends,
As your representative, I wholeheartedly support the right to bear arms. This God-given right is one of the most important rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. Unbelievably, however, the Obama Administration is seeking to circumvent Congress and undermine the Second Amendment.
Last month, Secretary of State John Kerry signed the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Among its provisions, the treaty would establish a national control system to identify and monitor American’s use of firearms. Under the Constitution, it is now the Senate’s sole duty to ratify or reject the treaty.
I believe the ratification of the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty would violate your Second Amendment right to bear arms and would undermine America’s sovereignty. We cannot allow foreign governments the ability to impose their restrictive gun control laws that do nothing but take away your right to defend yourself and your loved ones.
Although I do not serve in the Senate, I, along with 180 House Members, signed a letter detailing our objections to the Arms Trade Treaty. I will work with my colleagues in the Senate to reject the treaty and protect your constitutional right to bear arms.
As always, I encourage you to connect with me using my website, twitter, and facebook.
In Your Service,
Congressman Steven Palazzo
