Palazzo Attends U.S. Coast Guard Change of Command
Washington, DC, June 2, 2022
Washington, DC - Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) attended the United States Coast Guard Change of Command ceremony Wednesday morning at the United States Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Adm. Linda L. Fagan replaced retiring Adm. Karl L. Schultz as the first female Commandant of the United States Coast Guard. Adm. Schultz served in the position since 2018.
"I would first like to congratulate Adm. Schultz on his retirement after 39 commendable years of service," said Congressman Palazzo. "Adm. Schultz has served the Coast Guard well, but I firmly believe the Guard is being left in the most capable hands with Adm. Fagan. I look forward to seeing the Guard flourish under Adm. Fagan's leadership and wish them both the best in these new chapters of their lives."
Adm. Fagan has 37 years of service leading up to her new position as Commandant and was one of only 16 women in her graduating class from the Coast Guard Academy.
