Palazzo Joins Resolution to Expose Flaws of Socialist Green New Deal
Washington, DC - Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) released the following statement after joining several of his colleagues in introducing a resolution that highlights the glaring flaws of Democrats' Green New Deal initiative.
"Since Nancy Pelosi took the gavel, we've seen Democrats continue pushing radical socialist proposals, including the Green New Deal. Advancing Liberals' $93 trillion plan would wreck our thriving economy and decimate Mississippi's number one industry, agriculture. It is an unachievable plan that contains egregious provisions unrelated to its intended purpose, such as using tax dollars to compensate individuals unwilling to work, socializing healthcare, and making college free. We should find ways to reduce government regulations in our everyday lives, not expand it in the ways their proposal advocates for." The resolution found here exposes several of the Green New Deal's biggest problems. This includes the $93 trillion costs of the plan, harm that would be inflicted on our environment, as well as increased energy costs required for all U.S. households and businesses. The Green New Deal resolution attempts to impose single-payer health care, guarantee compensation for those unwilling to work, and provide free college for all. ### |
