Palazzo Honored for Military Service by VA Secretary
Washington, DC - Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) released the following statement after being honored by the Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary, Robert Wilkie, for his service in the United States military.
"What an honor it is to be recognized for my service to this country. As a young man, entering the Marines was an easy decision and a family tradition with both my uncle and grandfather also being Marines. I believe it is my duty to give back to the country that has given so much to me and am forever grateful for my time in the Marine Corps. It is now a privilege to continue serving the country as a member of the Mississippi National Guard and a member of Congress."
In an effort to recognize all Congressional members that are veterans, Secretary Wilkie extended the 2018 Veterans Day lapel pin to all veterans serving in Congress as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
Palazzo enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1988, where he served with the 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company in the Persian Gulf War during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
