Washington, DC-Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-04), today supported a House bill that would fund the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The bill passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 247-164.
“As I work here in Washington to reopen essential government services, my thoughts and prayers are with my constituents in South Mississippi as Tropical Storm Karen heads towards the Gulf Coast. I will continue to support funding for vital services like FEMA, pay for our troops and veterans’ benefits, nutrition assistance for low income women and children, and to keep our national parks open. I also look forward to supporting tomorrow’s legislation to provide backpay for federal workers, many of whom are furloughed through no fault of their own.”
